As someone who works at home and no longer has any kids in school, I didn’t think snow days would affect me anymore but I was wrong.
I had planned for over a week to go spend today with Xena and Babalouie. Due to the end of the term, they had no school today but their Mom did, so I was going to watch them while she had an in-service day and parent conferences.
Snowmaggedon has put the kibosh on all of that. Conferences were cancelled at the forecast and in-service was severely curtailed once the snow actually hit. I’m sitting here, looking out my front window, at snow that’s coming down so fast and heavy that the park house across the street is nearly invisible.
I spent the weekend cramming work because I knew I’d be taking today off and now I find myself with a free day to do whatever I want.
Hmmmm.
Too bad I just watched the Lord of the Rings: it would have been the perfect day to binge that.
The mail came early today and with it was the order of 12 shades of grey paint. It’s a sign!
I think I’ll go up and start ripping carpet out of my new studio space and after lunch, I’ll mess around with my new paint.
Or I’ll sit here and play Spider all afternoon.
It’s anyone’s guess.
