Everyone caught a cold. Boopity Boop had an ear infection a week ago, Katie had caught it by Christmas Eve and now Zack, Josie and I are busy hacking up our lungs and trying to breathe. You gotta love winter.
I Zicamed for days but couldn’t stave this thing off. It’s not as bad as it sounds; I’m not really coughing up bloody organs. It doesn’t hurt but it sounds terrible.
I’m trying to get back into the groove of work. That’s always the worst part about taking time off: it’s hard to get back into the rhythm of it.
Despite feeling like my body is made of some sort of heavy, non-responsive, dried out clay, I managed to get a lot of orders filled today.
Yesterday, I went and saw The Greatest Showman. I LOVED IT.
The last musical I saw was La La Land, which I guess was written by the same bunch of guys. La La Land was awful. Not only were the songs so dull I forgot them before they were over, no one in the movie could actually sing or dance. Ryan Gosling is totally over rated: he’s not cute enough to get away with playing a jerk with no talent. Not when Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron, each of whom I find far more attractive, can actually do the things required of the stars of a musical.
Some of the reviews of The Greatest Showman are bad, I guess. Don’t go see it if you don’t like spectacle, romance, heart rending songs, rags to riches or riches to rags then back to riches stories. Or really hot guys dancing up a storm.
If you don’t like any of those things, I can’t help you and neither will this movie.
Stay home and read Nicholas Sparks latest tear jerker.
I’ve never liked the Circus, never even been tempted to go to one but this movie made me want to join the circus. I have no idea what use a no talent grandma could be to them but hey…we can’t all be bearded ladies!
I haven’t seen the latest Star Wars movie yet but I seriously doubt I’ll enjoy it as much as I did The Greatest Showman.
It’s cold out. Really cold. Double digit below zero cold. Minnesota in Winter cold.
I hope my car starts: I have to get groceries for dinner. We’re celebrating Boopity Boop’s First Birthday!
It’s hard to believe it was a year ago that they were brought into the world, at a whopping 8.5lbs. That was both of them, not each. The weight differential has remained, although a pound or so is much less of a difference when you’re at 17lbs than it was at 4lbs. They’re both strong, smart, charming and funny. The last time I babysat, I couldn’t get any pictures because every time I pulled out my camera, they blitzed me. All I could get were blurry ultra close-ups of somebody’s eye or teeth. They kiss now. They also try to do the arm motions when we sing ‘Skinamarinky Dink’. Boop briefly stood last night, with no support. She’ll be walking soon and her sister will leap to her feet right after. When they were still tiny, their mother said that Boopity was braver than Boop but Boop works much harder at everything. This seems to be holding. Although, when it comes to food, Boop is much more willing to eat everything. Boopity is turning out to be quite picky.
Katie and Adam got an Alexa for Christmas. She tends to just blurt stuff out for no reason. This makes Boopity very suspicious of her. The baby warned me to beware of the black box on the table; she kept pointing at it. Then that voice told us the time and temperature for no reason and Boopity looked at me like “See?! See, Nana? Watch out for that thing.”
You’d think she’s seen the movie Snowden.
I have to go start my car. It’s -14 right now.
I love Minnesota in winter.
