Our newest grandchild was born on Monday. At 8lbs. 6 oz and 22” long, she’s far and away the biggest yet! Not only is she two pounds heavier than her siblings were at birth, she weighs as much as BoopityBoop did, together! A head covered in dark hair and long fingernails suggests that Kitten just may have been a tad overdue.
Megan’s Mom came into town over the weekend to watch Xena and Babalouie so Ty and Megan could concentrate on the arrival of Kitten. They were all at the hospital by the time Jay and I arrived, two hours after Kitten’s debut.
She’s a cutie!
Twice, she loudly protested as we passed her from arm to arm and lap to lap: everyone wanted to hold her. I was happy to see that she doesn’t hesitate to lodge a complaint when things aren’t to her liking. She’s the third child in the family; she’ll have to be loud to be heard.
Oh, it’s going to be fun to discover who she is!
Monday also happened to be Jay’s brother Tim’s birthday. Tim is 62!
Babalouie shares his birthday with my sister in law, Heidi and BoopityBoop share theirs with my brother JP. I mentioned this to Peg (formerly known as Nemisis) and she told me Xena’s birthday is the same as Megan’s brother Owen. That’s life in a giant family; no one gets their own birthday.
You’re never alone
You’re never disconnected
You’re home with your own
When company’s expected
You’re well protected!
Womb to tomb, Kitten. Womb to tomb.
