The grandbabies have gone back to Texas. With any luck at all, they'll be back to stay in the not so distant future.
It was so great to have them here.
We spent their last afternoon in the recliner, both kids dozing on me as we watched Ratatouille over and over. Babydoll got to spend a big chunk of yesterday afternoon out side, in her new snowpants and boots. First her Dad took her across the street for some sliding and when he got tired, her Mom took her back for another half hour or so. Fresh, winter air is the single greatest sleep aid known to mankind.
I will miss having my house full of all my kids.
But there's an upside to being on my own again. For instance, I got two seasons of Happy Endings, season 2 of Nashville and several movies for Christmas. Zack gave me a six part documentary on the history of guns. I can hardly wait!
Still...it was weird to wake up this morning to no sounds of little voices in the kitchen. Even if its only a few months till I see them again, they're both going to be so much bigger and cuter when I do.
Now I must get back to work. I've really let things slide for the last three weeks.
