I’ve been under the weather for two weeks. No energy, no spark. It’s all I can do to keep hauling breath into my lungs and expel it without coughing up half my innards. That’s my excuse for having nothing to say about the myriad things going on in the world.
Honestly, I read the news in the morning and I’m so appalled, I could go on for days on each different subject but I’m too tired, so I turn it off and think of other things instead.
The whole world is so dumb it floors me.
Hillary Clinton, a woman with no accomplishments other than getting away with crimes everywhere she’s ever gone is touted as the front runner for a major political party. Why? As First Lady, she turned the country off with her attempt at Nationalized health care. Now that someone else succeeded in forcing it upon the citizenry, it’s as bad (more expensive, less accessible and less coverage for fewer people) as we said it would be. As Senator, of a state in which she never lived, she did…nothing. As Secretary of State, she abandoned our people and lost Libya, the country that abandoned its Weapons of Mass Destruction after watching Bush dismantle Iraq. We had Libya right where we wanted them until this administration did everything wrong. Now we find out that through her entire tenure in charge of the state department, she conducted business exclusively through a secret, private and illegal email system.
In a nation that has equality under the law written into the Constitution, someone behaving in such a manner would be prosecuted for breaking these laws.
But apparently being a member of the ruling class puts one above the law in modern America.
The FCC has just been given authority over the internet with the fantastically named “Net Neutrality” regulations. This is completely ridiculous; the internet has been the most successful endeavor of the last twenty years and the fact that it has been free of government interference has been a reason for its success, not a deterrent to same.
Higher Ed has completely lost its mind; from ‘rape culture’, which isn’t true to ‘trigger words’ which stifle speech, to ‘diversity’ which stifles thought…it’s the most expensive waste of time ever devised by humanity. You can spend five years and a quarter of a million dollars to get a degree proving you know a ton of things that aren’t true.
We’ve had a bunch of Ivy Leaguers running the government into the ground but the big mark against Wisconsin’s governor, Scott Walker, is that he doesn’t have a college degree.
I think that may be his strongest attribute. I have a great respect for education and intelligence but I have nothing but disdain for what has come to be known as ‘intellectuals’. As far as I can see, those referred to that way are folks who are so smart they dispense with reality, history, biology or common sense.
Anyone who points out the flaws in their logic or the failure of their plans is called a bigot.
The movie Idiocracy was wrong on so many levels. It wasn’t several centuries in the future; its here, now. It wasn’t brought about by the lower, uneducated classes, it was brought to us by the universities and those with lettered credentials.
James Clavell’s short story, The Children’s Story has come true in class rooms all over America. It makes me want to cry and rage at the education establishment.
Shakespeare was wrong, the first thing to do is not kill all the lawyers, it’s get rid of the schools of education.
The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave had better rouse itself because there are some injuries you just can’t recover from.
I hope I feel this way only because I’ve been sick for two and a half weeks. I’m not usually this pessimistic about the future.
I have discovered an antidote to listening to the news: Christian Rock radio. Hard to take this world too seriously when you’re singing along to Soul on Fire by Third Day.
