Yesterday, after getting a suitable amount of work done, I put away my fine brushes and moved all the furniture away from the south wall. As sick to death as I am of un-necessary masks, I did wear a carpenter's mask while I cleaned and swept out ten years (at least) worth of dust from behind and under the cupboards that go along there. It was hot and disgusting but didn't really take all that long and then I was ready to paint. First, I took an hour (or two) off to walk around Lake Harriet with my sisters and Mom. We brought along Dad's old wheelchair so when Mom got tired, she sat but I'll bet she walked most of a mile! I'll bet she slept well last night. I know I did. After the walk, I got the first coat on the wall, ceiling and trim just in time for dinner. Jay made pork roast in the crock pot.
I slept ten hours last night, then got up, walked up to the hardware store on the corner and bought new roller covers. I put the second coat of paint on the walls before lunch. By midafternoon it was dry enough for me to put the furniture back in place.
One wall to go. Then I may start to repaint some of the furniture. That yellow and peach thing is a mess. So is the white six drawer piece. I love them both and every drawer is full of stuff I use all the time but as you can see: paint gets everywhere.
After I got all the furniture put back, I worked for awhile, then Jay and I walked the lake. I came home and did another order, then quit around 5:00. I'm four days ahead of my monthly quota, my office repaint is nearly done and I'm quitting at 5 instead of 7. Things are looking up!
