There's a reason for that.
I voted for Trump in 2016 because he ran against Hillary Clinton. I would have voted for a chalk outline if it was the only thing keeping her away from power. Five years ago, I wrote this and I stand by every word of it.
But when the impossible happened and Trump took office, I decided to step back and carefully watch what happened. I voted for him to be a wrecking ball; not because I wanted to join the cult of personality around him. He's a big, blustery orange boob; not my savior.
I fully expected Trump to trip over his own big stupid feet and alienate those of us who supported him. I expected him to let us down on the border, on regulations, on political correctness...in fact, I expected him to do what every other elected official does and that's go along to get along in D.C.
I was wrong.
Turns out, Trump meant every word he said on the campaign trail.
Within six months, it became apparent to me that the more obnoxious his tweets, the more important the things he was getting done behind the scenes. Trump never got a political 'honeymoon'. The calls for impeachment began the moment he took the oath of office and continued after he was gone! There was never a minute of his administration when the entire political, media and pop cultural establishment wasn't out to get him but he never backed down.
They didn't scare him. Trump wasn't afraid of China, Russia, North Korea or the American establishment! We haven't seen courage like that in the POTUS since Harry Truman dropped the bomb.
I admire that.
While feminists squealed in their stupid pink hats, he secured the border; made the US energy independent*; rolled back regulations like the tide preceding a tsunami, which allowed the economy to grow at a pace it hasn't seen sine the mid '90's and produced statistically full employment; filled judicial benches all over the country; went face to face with North Korea over military issues; with China over economic issues; destroyed ISIS...
At the same time, Leftist icons like Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein were exposed as the sexual predators they are, the technocracy has become censors the likes of which would make Nikita Khrushchev proud and Democratic party run cities are using black lives as an excuse to renege on every oath of office they've ever taken and consign those cities to lawless chaos. Defund the Police is a Progressive movement. They claim Black Lives Matter but the truth is NO Lives Matter to the death cult known as Progressivism.
A big, orange doofus with a very brash manner was the only one in the entire political arena with the gonads to say such things.
And of course, the establishment called him a liar.
If you want to know what the Left is up to, listen to what they accuse the right.
I still expected Trump to make some huge, world shaking blunder, like oh...pulling our troops out of Afghanistan in a stupid, willy nilly way that would undermine all the progress we've made over there in the last 20 years...
But he didn't.
While the entire establishment deliberately misconstrued every single move he made and screamed and cried over his blunt and offensive tweets, Donald J. Trump became the best President of my life. And yes, I'm including Ronald Reagan. Trump got more of the things that I wanted done in 4 years than Reagan did in 8 and he did it while being smeared non stop by every branch and twig of the Progressive establishment.
And I'm not the only one who saw it.
In the election of 2020, Trump increased his vote tally by 18%.
But we all know what happened. The national response to Covid is another post. The election is yet another post.
The asininity of the world, having removed Trump, is further proof to me that he is in fact, exactly what we need right now. The stupidity mounts all around me every day. I can't keep up. I don't want to.
And I'm really busy living and enjoying my life. I suggest that you turn everything off and go do the same.
*the US dept. of energy was established back during the 70s with the express purpose of freeing us from the need to rely on the middle east for our energy. 50 years later, Trump proved that the only thing that every stopped us from becoming energy independent was the will of our politicians. This is another reason the establishment hates him; he proved they are worse than incompetent: they're the problem.
