Explorer sucks so bad there's no description for it.
Using it made using my computer about as much fun as riding a bike with no wheels. Not a stationary bike, mind you; a real bike you want to use for travel.
The other, more serious problem is sensory overload. The world at large has jumped the shark and trying to keep up with the insanity is too depressing to think about, so I don't. I read the news then spend the day trying to unsee what I've seen and unthink what I've thunk.
If you had told me ten years ago that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be the respective front runner for their parties, I'd have asked you which parties you were talking about and whatever happened to the Republicans? (My guess would be that the party was a victim of Darwinism, which would actually be correct)
It's Bizarroworld.
In my life, the Democrats have repeatedly chosen the newest, shiniest, most mysterious candidate while the Republicans have shoved whoever was up next down the throats of their constituents. Bill Clinton was absolutely right when he said that Republicans fall in line while Democrats fall in love.
The two parties behave like women in the dating scene: one is looking for a heart pounding fling while the other wants a guy she can depend on and settle down with.
There's certainly something to be said for each approach.
But the same inherent problems that come from such philosophies in the dating world apply here; The fun loving swinger has become a dried up, unappealing old maid and the staid married lady has discovered her husband to be unfaithful.
Does Hillary Clinton make anyone's heart beat faster? Is she even the political version of a weekend fling? Is she what anyone thinks of when hearing the term "Dream Date"? Her hubby was the embodiment of a one night stand; he said whatever you wanted to hear to get into your bed, then slapped your face, left you a dollar of your own money on the night stand and stole your tv on the way out the door. And that was 23 years ago. Have you learned anything? Signing on to his wife's campaign isn't the equivalent of reliving the good old days, it's more like getting hired by your ex mother in law, who still doesn't believe her precious son cheated on you (or if he did, he had his reasons). Why would anyone do that on purpose?
Meanwhile, the Republican base has had it up to their eyebrows with the Stupid party making promises they never even try to keep.
Most of the Republican base is against indiscriminate immigration. A nation has the right and the duty to its citizens to pick and choose those whom it allows to join. Most Americans are against all illegal immigration. You want to come in? Knock on the door and wait to be invited, like any civilized guest. You sneak in through the bathroom window, I'm going to take it as given that you're up to no good.
Despite decades of promises to enforce our laws, the Republican party hasn't lifted a finger to fix those problems and that's only on the one issue. They're no better on any of the other issues.
If your daughter had two suitors, one of whom said "I'll blow all our money, max out all our credit cards, sell our kids into slavery, gamble away all our assets and cheat on you every single day but Baby, the phone sex will be great, when I bother" and the other said "I'll tell you I love you everyday, listen to your cares every night but I've got another family on the other side of town and I spend three times what I earn on powerball tickets" which would you give your blessing to?
NEITHER.
If you cared one iota for your daughter, you'd chase both the young reprobates out of your house with a loaded shotgun.
Democratic voters have supported their party for decades believing the promises of equality for women, a safety net for the poor and education to our kids and most recently 'free' healthcare for everyone. If your idea of equality between the sexes is abortion on demand, then I'd say you're depraved. What we have is a culture where the 'woman of the year' award goes to a man. The 'safety net' for the poor has turned into a tar pit from which it is nearly impossible to escape. Public education has made it possible for kids to get a high school diploma without being able to read and the fix for this problem is to lower standards of college applications. Civil rights have descended to mining for microaggressions and the disintegration of the family and community. As for 'free' health care, that's always been a myth. We're willing to spend hundreds of dollars on our phones, internet and cable TV but want to pay nothing for the medicines and procedures that make our lives longer, easier and better than humans have ever experienced? What the Hell is wrong with us? Where are our priorities??
Despite all sense, the Democrat's constituents continue to support the very policies that are killing them. Their voters always seem to buy that doing anything, even the wrong thing, is better than doing nothing.
The conservatives in this country are giving notice to the Stupid party that they will not put up with it like the Democrats have. They've been betrayed by the Republican party too often. Support for Donald Trump is a punch in the face to the Republican establishment. It's the voters saying "Screw us? Screw you."
I don't like Trump. I don't trust Trump.
That's actually a moot point, since I'm a conservative. My default position is that power corrupts. Therefore, politicians should have as little power over me and my life as is possible to keep the country running. That is the definition of a conservative. I don't agree with Trump on a lot of issues that are important to me. No president can 'make America great'. The best presidents have been the ones who got the hell out of the way and let America's natural greatness unleash itself.
Trump is one of the few candidates in the running who haven't actively betrayed me, lied to me or hurt my country. Like our founding fathers, he's a success who thinks everyone could be even more successful without the burden of Big Government acting against him.
I'd rather he wasn't the nominee but if he is, I'll vote for him. Not because I like him but because I love my country and all the people in it far too much to allow a self serving criminal and her sexual predator partner access to the oval office again. Then again, the primaries haven't even started. I've said for years that Hillary would never be the nominee and I'm standing by that prediction until events prove me wrong. The Dems could revert to their go-to strategy and choose Bernie, who is after all, the George McGovern of 2016.
Now I have to go upstairs and paint happy, pretty designs for my customers.
The gears in my head are starting to grind from being switched so hard, so often.
